The story of KU Education is one of resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to learning. Established in 1998, KU Education has experienced an extraordinary journey, overcoming challenges and growing into a distinguished institution in Sri Lanka's education sector.

Humble Beginnings: Powering Up Education

KU Education began as Power Systems Professionals in 1998, with a vision to provide computer education and technological solutions. Recognizing the growing demand for IT skills, the institution expanded its focus to offer computer training programs. By 1999, KU Education achieved a significant milestone—it was officially recognized and registered as the first computer training center with the Council for Information Technology Sri Lanka (now known as the Vocational Training Authority, VTA). This recognition marked the beginning of a transformative era in IT education for the institution.

Adapting Through Adversity: Navigating the Civil War

The early 2000s were a period of significant upheaval in Sri Lanka due to the civil war. KU Education faced numerous challenges, including relocation and restructuring of its operations due to the ongoing conflict. Despite these hardships, the institution remained steadfast in its mission to provide quality education. However, the situation worsened in 2007, impacting its operations drastically.

During this turbulent period, the founder of KU Education, Mr. S. Manimaran, made a strategic move to Malaysia. This decision was not a retreat but a step toward further strengthening KU Education’s foundation.

International Exposure and Growth

Mr. Manimaran’s journey in Malaysia and Singapore allowed him to immerse himself in the international education industry. Working in higher education in these countries provided him with valuable insights into global educational standards, curriculum development, and innovative teaching methodologies. His experience abroad played a crucial role in reshaping KU Education’s vision, paving the way for modern, internationally aligned educational programs.
