Recognizing the growing demand for IT skills, the institution expanded its focus to offer computer training programs. By 1999, KU Education achieved a significant milestone—it was officially recognized and registered as the first computer training center with the Council for Information Technology Sri Lanka (now known as the Vocational Training Authority, VTA).
